Home Mover Mortgage Advice – Clear, Organised & Stress-Free
Moving home can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re managing a sale and purchase at the same time. My role is to guide you through it clearly and keep everything aligned, so you always know what’s happening next. I support home movers across the UK, as well as locally in Brecon and Powys.
Who this is for

Common worries when moving home
Many home movers contact me feeling worried because:
- “I don’t know if I should port my mortgage or start again.”
- “What happens if my sale and purchase complete on different days?”
- “Will I lose my current rate?”
- “How much can I borrow now?”
- “I’m scared something will delay the chain.”
These concerns are completely normal — and having the right support makes a huge difference.
Porting vs New Mortgage – What Does It Mean?
If you already have a mortgage, you may have the option to port it to your new property.
Port your mortgage
Porting means moving your existing mortgage to your new property, rather than replacing it with a new deal.
You may be able to keep your current interest rate
The mortgage moves from your current home to the new property
Your lender will still carry out a full affordability assessment
If you need to borrow more, this may be added as a separate mortgage product
The new property must meet your lender’s criteria
Take a New Mortgage
Sometimes it’s better to start a new mortgage when moving home, either with your current lender or a different one.
You may find a more suitable rate or product
Your financial circumstances may have changed since your last mortgage
Your current lender may not allow additional borrowing
The new property may not meet your existing lender’s requirements
A new lender may offer better borrowing options
